Siliken will build in Rome one of the largest photovoltaic plants in Italy

March, 16, 2010.

The Spanish renewable energy company, Siliken, has entered into an agreement with the company FRV –Fotowatio Renewable Ventures– to set up a 9.8 MW power PV plant in the Italian city of Fiumicino (Rome). This will be the largest PV installation in the region and one of the largest in Italy, which will consolidate Siliken as one of the leading companies in the industry in this transalpine country. Siliken will deliver this installation as a turnkey project. Building will start in April and the facility will be completed in September/October 2010. Siliken will be responsible for the maintenance of the plant as of the start of operations.

With 9.8 MW power, the installation will consist of 40,000 Siliken SLK60P6L modules of 225 and 230Wp. The plant will have the capacity to inject yearly 14GWh into the grid, which will avoid the emission of 16,000 tonnes of CO2 and cover the energy needs of 2,700 households in the region.

In this plant, a Siliken piled structure will be used. It will be equipped with Siliken's proprietary monitoring system for continuous monitoring.
