Siliken Electronics launches a new 500-kW inverter

Dec. 10, 2009.

The new SE500Ni inverter has been available for sale since October. This new model inherits the advantages of its lower power predecessors and incorporates new improvements that make the 500-kW unit more reliable and efficient. This inverter is capable of processing up to 600 kWp, thereby responding to the growing market demand for high-power equipment in ground installations, with European efficiency of over 97%.

Unlike similar models of other manufacturers, this inverter incorporates 5, independent MPP algorithms that allow it to optimize the energy obtained from each one of the panel series, thereby preventing any short-circuits, shadows or errors in some of the series from affecting the equipment as a whole. Moreover, to guarantee the machine’s availability and to prevent the total loss of production if any incident occurs, the SE500Ni has been designed according to a modular philosophy, where each 120-kWp stage can be connected and disconnected without affecting the rest of the equipment. This allows more efficient maintenance and an increase in the machine’s availability to generate energy.

This inverter can also be acquired in its SE500i version, which allows users to have a completely integrated solution that includes the following elements:
- Low Voltage shed: a prefabricated concrete building that includes the SE500Ni inverter, DC input protections and AC output protections.

- Medium Voltage shed: a prefabricated concrete building that houses the MV transformer, the LV protection panel and the MV switchgear systems.

New line of low-power inverters

In February 2010, Siliken Electronics will start to market its new line of single-phase grid-connect inverters, that covers a range of powers from 2.8 kW to 5 kW. These new models will be available in two different versions (with and without a galvanic isolation transformer), thereby significantly expanding the current supply of inverters in the lower power range.
These inverters are characterized by offering exceptional features:

- High energy performance (exceeding 96.4%).

- High flexibility of installation sizing due to their range of MPP voltages.

- Optimum operation (without derating) in a broad temperature range (from –20º C to +55º C), while continuously delivering the inverter’s nominal power.

- Standard 5-year warranty.
